WOWZERS MY BLOOD PRESSURE WAS WHAT!!??
Yeah, I think you kind of guessed it. I have a high blood pressure, and don't get me wrong I'm not kicking the curb in the health department. I've always been a healthy person.
I try to eat pretty clean. My fitness habits are always changing, but are habitual. I am a gym fanatic! So, why was I so surprised when I was told my heart rate was 156 over 134!?
By the way the second number is the resting heart rate. My heart was beating that fast WHILE I WAS SITTING STILL.
Think about the habits in your life. Are you staying up late? Are you
eating a ton of candy in the morning and evening? Do you even get up out of your damn bed during the day?!
Well, I've been consuming 2 to 4 energy drinks a day for a while now. Don't get me wrong. I know that's a little more than the doctor ordered....k maybe a lot more. BUT in my defense, I work 60 to 70 hour weeks. Some times the extra energy helps..
But was it worth it!!
The answer numbnuts is IN FACT NO!
So I did a little reconnaissance and decided to find out just how much caffeine/ other things I was consuming..
Just to put it simply..COFFEE has one ingredient..coffee..
One can of NOS energy has an extra 20 ingredients added including caffeine.
I guess the day I was at work and my chest started hurting should have been a clue..but nope.. drank another and the pain went away.
See all the extra stimulants caused my heart to have forced contractions.
I had withdrawls (LIKE A DRUG), causing painful headaches and moodswings..when trying to quit for a day!
My sleep cycle was for shite. Believe me! After having a few micro naps while driving...yeah you'll think twice about drinking these..
So what am I doing...
I'm cutting my self off. Think twice guys. Moderation is a scarry game, cause soon it turns to a dependency!
